Talking Thermometer with Braille Functions
GETTING ACQUAINTED
Before attempting to use the Thermovoice II please examine the unit to become familiar with the different features and controls, which are labeled on the top surface in both braille and print.
Volume Control - Place the Thermovoice II on a level
surface in front of you and explore its shape. Notice on one edge, there is a movable thumbwheel (labeled VOL). This is the volume control which adjusts the volume of the speech output. Orient the unit so that this thumbwheel is on the right-hand side.
Power Switch - On the same edge as the thumbwheel, is a rocker switch (labeled ON). This is the power switch
pressing forward on this switch (toward the thumbwheel) turns the unit on
SAFEGUARDS
All temperatures should be taken under adult supervision.
To prevent cross contamination it is suggested that
disposable sleeves be used at all times, and disposed of
afterwards.
Do not submerge any part of the Thermovoice II except the probe shaft in liquids.
Placing the probe in contact with an environment that is
greater than 280 degree F will damage the probe and
give incorrect readings. The probe can measure
temperatures in the range of 6 degree F to 280 degree F TEP
Placing the Thermovoice II voice box in an environment
that is not within its normal operating range (e.g. an
oven) will damage the unit or produce incorrect readings.
The ambient operating range of the Thermovoice Il voice
box is 50 degree F to 120 degree F VES
Use only the adaptor supplied with the Thermovoice II or an alkaline 9 volt battery.
